Editorial Standards

Expedixo is a specialist news platform serving the global travel retail, duty-free, and airport commerce industry. Our readers include brand professionals, retail operators, airport authorities, and industry investors who rely on accurate and timely information to make decisions. These editorial standards exist to protect the quality and integrity of everything we publish.

Our Editorial Pillars

Accuracy

Every fact, figure, name, and date is verified before publication against primary sources.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made free from advertiser, sponsor, or commercial pressure.

Fairness

Subjects of critical coverage are given reasonable opportunity to respond before publication.

Transparency

We disclose conflicts of interest, sponsored content, and AI use clearly and prominently.

Timeliness

We prioritise the speed of accurate reporting, not the speed of unverified reporting.

Accountability

We correct errors promptly and transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy.

Sourcing and Verification

Expedixo relies on primary sources wherever possible. These include official press releases, company announcements, industry reports, and direct statements from named spokespersons. We do not publish unverified rumours or speculation presented as fact.

Official press releases, company statements, direct interviews, regulatory filings, government data, and peer-reviewed industry reports constitute primary sources. These are always preferred over secondary aggregation.

Reports, analysis, or coverage from other established industry publications may be cited to provide context or background. We always attribute secondary sources and do not present third-party analysis as our own original research.

Expedixo uses anonymous sources sparingly and only when the information is of clear public interest and cannot be obtained on the record. Anonymous sourcing is disclosed to readers. We do not rely on a single anonymous source to support a material factual claim.

Fact-Checking Process

Before any article is published on Expedixo, the following steps are taken by our editorial team:

  • All named individuals, job titles, and company names are verified against current official sources.
  • Statistics, market data, and financial figures are traced to their original source and cited accordingly.
  • Quotes attributed to individuals are verified as accurately transcribed or sourced from official statements.
  • Product descriptions, launch details, and availability claims are cross-referenced with brand communications.
  • Dates of events, openings, and launches are confirmed before publication.

AI Disclosure Policy

Our Approach to Artificial Intelligence

Expedixo may use AI writing and research tools to assist in the drafting, structuring, or editing of some content. Where AI tools are used in the production of an article, this will be disclosed at the foot of the relevant article.

AI-assisted content is always reviewed, verified, and edited by a human editor before publication. Expedixo does not publish AI-generated content that has not been reviewed for accuracy, tone, and factual integrity by our editorial team.

AI tools are never used to fabricate quotes, invent sources, or generate statistics that are presented as real data. All factual claims in AI-assisted articles are independently verified against primary sources.

Separation of Editorial and Advertising

Expedixo maintains a strict separation between its editorial and commercial functions. Advertisers and sponsors do not receive editorial coverage as a condition of their commercial relationship with Expedixo.

  • Sponsored content and branded articles are clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Partner Content” and are visually distinct from independent editorial.
  • Press releases may be published in a designated section but are clearly identified as such.
  • Commercial partners may not request changes to independent editorial coverage, nor may they suppress the publication of critical reporting.
  • Advertising placement decisions are made by our commercial team and have no bearing on the editorial team’s coverage decisions.

Article Updates

Expedixo updates published articles when significant new information becomes available. Updates are labelled with the date and nature of the change at the top or bottom of the article. We distinguish between substantive updates (new developments) and corrections (errors). See our Corrections Policy for full details on how errors are handled.

Right of Reply

When Expedixo publishes content that is critical of a company, individual, or organisation, we make reasonable efforts to contact the relevant party for comment before publication. Where a response is received, it is included in the article. Where no response is received within a reasonable timeframe, this is noted in the article.

Editorial Independence

Expedixo’s editorial decisions — including what to cover, how to frame stories, and which sources to use — are made exclusively by the editorial team under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief, Joyal George. No third party, including investors, advertisers, or industry associations, has editorial authority over Expedixo’s content.
